I've added just side borders before, pick out one of the blues that seems to stand out in the quilt. I'd probably go with a solid border that would not draw from the beautiful blocks of the quilt, but compliment them.

I love your quilt. It is gorgeous! I agree... the border would look great in one of the darker solid fabrics. I would love to see a pic of it when it is finished

I love your quilt. Turquoise for a side border sounds wonderful. Better than something too dark or too light.
I also love Jennifer's border (post #19). But I would make the first stop border smaller. No wider than the strips in the quilt, maybe even smaller than that.

I agree. I would add a border to the sides and bottom end. Beautiful quilt.

Beautiful quilt. Where did you get the pattern or did you just make it up as you went along? Please share.

I think side borders done in one of your diamond sashing colors would look really good - especially maybe one of the polka dots??? You did a wonderful job - it's a beautiful quilt.

I think I would add piano key borders to the sides only using the fabrics you bordered the floral prints with. If you first add a narrow dark border to match the width around the diamonds, then 4.5" piano keys, then a 2" dark again, with a dark binding all around.

Your quilt is awesome and whoever gets it should love it. Nice job. I would just add side and bottom borders to enlarge the quilt, that should work
