Great idea. I've been thinking of doing something like that. Did you make your own board? I've been reading up on making ironing boards, the cost of the "big Board" that is sold is outrageous. Afterall a sturdy piece of plywood and the materials to cover it would not cost 100.00 - and no shipping required. Yours is great - and we can all use additional storage. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to take a picture of your picture so that I have something to go by.

That is a great idea. It will sure be handy to iron your bigger fabric pieces. I need one like it someday. Maybe I can find a used dresser of sorts at a sale & convert that. I have seen some really creative ideas. Thanks for showing yours. I love it!

It cost around $35 to make this top. My husband cut 3/4" plywood (less than half a sheet) and put a 2x2 trim so it would fit tight to the table but be removable if needed. Then I covered with 3 layers of batting ( cut a 5' length off my roll into 3rds and still had a strip left that was enough for mugrugs I was making.) fabric is just cotton that I got on sale so only a couple dollars if that. I'm really happy with it and it was quite easy since we already had the table. You will love yours when you get it done!
