JuneBillie -- We have a ballet company, the Nutmeg Ballet, right here in the town I live in, & a renovated old theatre where we have live performances all the time. We're very lucky. I've seen Lone Star, Willie Nelson, Celtic Thunder, Shirley MacLaine there, & so many others have been there. There's someone performing all the time. And, of course, the Nutcracker Ballet with ballerinas from all over the world who come to the Nutmeg Ballet to perfect their dance. Yes, we are very fortunate.

RedGarnet -- I agree with JuneBillie; I'm so glad you took over this swap. I was really looking forward to joining it again this year!

Haven't really seen the Nutcracker only parts during the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall in NY, but so enjoy the Rockettes and the Rockefeller Christmas tree, in fact the tree came from the town where I went camping last weekend saw them cutting it down, what a show in it self, they say it was about 78 foot tall.

Red, your niece is lovely. I think I spy one of your picture ornaments on the tree behind her; what a great idea. I've got some wonderful old family photos and may have to think about doing something like that...

I am sorry I don't know how I missed this post Teri. It really is up to the swapper if they wish to put a little extra in with the ornament. But an ornament and a card is the swap. Some put a little candy or a fat quarter and sometimes more than one ornament. If you look at the beginning of the thread, there are links to the past ornament swaps and you can peek and see what was received, okay?

Thanks girls, I am trying to do my best to make it interesting and fun while the swap is in play. Jump right in and post pics if you like of past Christmas. That makes it fun and personal for everyone.

Here are some nutcrackers for little ones to cut out from some free images I found on line. I found them to share with my niece and thought maybe someone had a little one to share them with too. I usually print onto card stock or picture paper to make them a little more durable for her to play with. But, I also remember when we used to decoupage paper onto balsa wood to make kid craft ornaments.

I remember my mother always getting me and my sisters paper dolls and all that went with them to push back the paper tabs when putting on different paper clothes and shoes. We loved them.
