OOooohh major mixed joy and despair. I am so happy for you to have found your machine! Then bummed for you too about the broken needle oH. I hope you are able to procure a new needle for it and can get it up and working. I imagine you are over the moon excited!

The tiny curved needle is fine, it is the 46x1 normal straight needle that is the issue. This machines top needle has a long groove on BOTH sides....

Sure! Here is the link (hope it works). Although her machine is much newer, it appears to work on the same design.
She also does some amazing free motion embroidery on old machines and has a video of her working on an early embroidery & chenille machine. Sew very cool!

Wow Steve!!! I'm so happy for you! It's an incredible machine and couldn't be in better hands! The needle is a minor concern. Also don't feel bad about working on it for 12 hours a day for 4 days straight in your excitement because I think most of us have been there
