I just got the wonder cut ruler and love it. You do need the Guidelines Grip Strips which I also love for my rulers. You just sew a tube the length of the fabric and cut triangles with the ruler. Very easy to use.

I cut my squares about one inch bigger than they are supposed to be, sew the seam on both sides and cut in the middle. Then I trim them to the correct size. I take all my extra fabric and save it in an old pillowcase and fill it for dog beds for rescue groups.

I cut them with my Accuquilt Go. I love using it for them. Never a problem.

Check out Jenny Doans ways, if using charms, I iron on diagonal, sew 1/4" on either side and cut. If you want 8 at a time, she uses the layer cake and makes an X, sews and cuts on either side and then cuts up and down too, and you have 8 at a time.

Cut two squares 1" larger than finished hst. Right sides together. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner. Sew 1/4" from each side of the line. Cut on line.

I have Eleanor Burns ruler where you trim before you press open. Put the line on the ruler along the stitching line and trim two raw edges.

If you don't have the Eleanor Burns ruler then press open and put a square ruler with the 45 degree line along the seam line and trim two sides. Turn, repeat to trim the other two sides. If you just trim two sides and not have the ruler line along the seam line your hst will be lopsided.
