    You can't beat Connecting Threads or Keepsake Quilting. They have lots of collections at reasonable prices. Great material and good service. They have sales and free shipping.

    Thanks for all of the suggestions! We have a no GC rule in our swap. I'll be choosing the fabric and putting a link to the specific fabric on my wish list. I can't imagine my MOM picking out fabric for me!     If you like batiks, Fabric Fanatics are great for them. Their on-line store is huge and photos are pretty true to color

    Go to a bookstore and look through current magazines. I would be careful asking non-sewers to buy material. Maybe it would be better to ask for a gift card to a specific store, like Hancocks of Paducah.
