LOL, this is off topic but it made me think of this- Did you know that Mr. Potato Head comes with a "Tater Tushie" storage space? Yep, you store the pieces in his butt! LMBO

Steve, I am sorry for what happened to your machine. I can't believe anybody could be that "stupid"! That's just really awful!

that is so awful. I had one completely destroyed in shipment. no padding at all on it.. and I just got a 185K, with a nice case, that was in pretty nice shape.
the case was broken in shipment. the machine itself is ok. just the case. but I will see what they say on any refund..

Too bad sellers are so irresponsible when packing - even after they are given info on what to do - seems like lately it is an ongoing trend...

The green cases for the 185's get really brittle and chip/break easily. Inside the base for the one that I have the supports are broken that hold up the machine at one end - the machine sits lopsided - I like the case so I will have to figure out something so that the machine will sit level - any suggestions for fixing are welcome - I will post later in another thread.

Steve - hope your Parisian beauty arrives safely!

I know they make special low temp solders for pot metal. I haven't worked with the stuff so can't say how good it really is but it might be a possibility.
Good thing about it. With the removable shell you might be able to solder the frame back together without damaging the finish.
I'm glad you got a refund.
I don't think people realize that metal breaks too. I think heavy=unbreakable to most people.

I spent part of yesterday gluing a plastic Kenmore case back together with plastruct. Managed to cement a bit of my hair into the crack too. It's nothing like a strong bond but at least it looks better.

She is just adorable. I wouldn't have the nerve to take it completely apart, but I know you can get back together.
