2016 Fabric Moratorium
#71
The LQS is having an open house today. I'm going and plan to get the backing for the star flower quilt and possible the batting. Hope nothing jumps out and says you have to have me.

Progressing on "Radiance".....cut up 10 sets each of red, green and brown fabrics in stash since last post; haven't even made a dent, but I'm persevering!! Will post a photo soon.

I got the backing for the star flower but not the batting. 5 1/3 yards but it is spoken for and I had nothing that large in the stash.

Well I did cave at the Goodwill.............purchased a sample book of drapery silk .........my defense is .........its for crazy quilting at another site. Cost, $2.99.
Elfie is trying to decide which to use........I was told at that site he left the cutter open.......yup he is naughty.......

Making my own "pre-cuts" of strips and squares and that really tames the stash! Ugly fabric makes great binding. I am hoping to move and will gladly mail an envelope of usable scraps to the first 10 that PM me!
Good luck to all!
Good luck to all!

I went to a LQS yesterday to learn how to use my new sewing machine. Lots of fabric! I fondled, oohed and ahhhed. I only bought the notions I needed to complete my UFO's. No fabric! And DH was even late picking me up so I had more time to double check/fondle fabric. So far, so good. Of course these classes are weekly for the next 4 weeks. I MUST STAY STRONG!

my first finished baby quilt top of the year made only from my stash. I have enough to do a matching one just like this with an orange/dog print replacing the dark blue/zoo print on this one. I am really taking this moratorium serious!!!!

Calla: Silk fabric for less than 3 bucks? I don't know how anyone could have resisted that, and it's not like you are increasing your silk stash (are you?).
Mrs Finch: that's how I got rid of some of my stash last year. Put it in the mail to random people . Good luck, as it didn't seem to make a dent.
Pyffer: love your quilt.
Sounds like everyone else is off to a good start this year!

I just got some help today on staying on track. My DH got a new to him truck (which he really needed), so that will keep me from buying. Only planning on backing and maybe fat quarters when we travel to put into a quilt at the end of the year to remind us of our travels in 2016. 8th day of the year and no purchases yet!
