help finding name of pattern
#42
Checked out the Marti Mitchell site. Couldn't find a pattern name. The butterfly motif is shown as a block that could be made with the dresdan plate templates. It is such a beautiful quilt. I'm inspired to made one for my great-grandaughter. She loves butterflies.

That is a beauty. If you don't find out the name from board members, you might contact Rachel, the owner of Grandma's Attic in Dallas OR. She has a website and you could send here your photo. She is an expert in antique quilts, especially the 30's and I bet she would know or find out for you.

I found the magazine - it was not so recent, May/June of 2000. It was on the title and the instructions etc are in the magazine. I could copy and send if you cannot locate. I know you can obtain old copies of magazines from the Fons & Porter site online.

it was a mcCall's magazine pattern. I made one for my daughter I want to say 6 to 10 years ago. My guess would be it's somewhere in the issues of 1999 to 2002. I'll check my pile of oldies to see if I still have it.

I have the magazine in my hand. It is the Fons and Porter's "For the Love of Quilting" March/April 2000 issue. It is on the cover. The name of the quilt is: Butterflies in Annie's Garden. It was made by JoAnn Belson from Lancaster, PA. The magazine includes full instructions, pictures and patterns. If you are interested, I can scan and e-mail to you!
