Thanks everyone for the nice words and the welcome!
I guess I should clarify.... I finished this quilt this year however I started it last spring. I got the 1/2 square triangle blocks made and the log cabin blocks made then got a wild hair to make the two neighbor kids and 12 grand kids a twin size or bigger quilt. That Kind of ate up my summer into fall. I finally got back on this in December and got it all pieced. I am not sure how many hours it took, as I just worked on it an hour here and there. I started long arming in January and it took 50 hours to do stitch by the ditch and all the other things! This is my second quilt that I did ruler work on (well one other but it wasn't much ruler work) That one took me 90 hours, so I kept the micro stitching at bay on this quilt! This quilt is why I bought my long arm. I come from a family of quilters and I could not get anyone to make me a quilt - even if I paid them, so I bought my own long arm to do my own quilt. This is how I came up with the name for this quilt! I used Quilters Dream Wool and Quilters Dream 70/30 for batting. The quilt is a mere 12 lbs... Too heavy to lay on top of you! Over the last year and half, I collected fat quarters in civil war reproduction print. I ended up with about 300. I did not use all of them, maybe 225 of the 300. I tried to make every block in different prints. I did have to use the light color on the blocks a few times. The size is about 109 x 107. I did both the quilting and piecing. I used a pattern called Autumn Splendor but had to add the 36 patch blocks to make it bigger.

Thanks again for the welcome and kind words.

Incredible! So... First of the year. Does that mean you just finished it? Or did you make that entire quilt in 2016? Either way it is beautiful, I just get so impressed with the speed that you ladies get these together!!!
