I finished this quilt this week, using 4 machines. A Singer 201k, Pfaff 60, White Rotary treadles and quilting done with the modern Pfaff QE 4.2.

Its a string quilt with a piano key border. I was given twelve 12" string blocks pieced onto a heavier muslin, using 1/2" seam allowances; it made the top very heavy. So I had to make piano key borders to balance the weight. It will go to a Wounded Warrior at Fort Hood army base, Killeen,Texas.

Beautiful, string quilts can be awkward to quilt, the seam allowances would have made it quite tricky. Beautiful.

I quilted my string quilt in a 3" diagonal grid, it made it easier to quilt.

Here is my latest quit top. I did this while the weather was so snowy. I used two 301 machines. All I need to do now is quilt it.

Beautiful quilt Crosssticher- cheddar, cranberries and creamcheese! I have and use both of my 301's too, they can't be beat. Love to see all of the quilts made on these vintage machines.
