I did a number of these several years ago -- I found an Easter egg shape on a coloring page, enlarged it, then pieced some fabric and cut it out. I did not bind them, but rather used the birthing method to finish them, then quilted them. I sewed several together to make a table runner -- unfortunately it is in some box somewhere. I remember seeing a pattern as well -- here is a pattern of one (though not the one I saw originally): http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/quilt...e-runner/45241
If you want to try your own -- here is a link to the shape:

Thank you! QuiltnLady1 for the egg shape pattern, I have been trying to make a pattern on news paper but my egg doesn't look like a egg... hehe ...I'll try yours, I will have to enlarge it but I think I can do this with the pattern you sent.. and thanks all who gave me directions on how to put the binding on something round.. I may do the birthing method as that sounds much faster and easier and quilting will be easy doing FMQ..Thanks so much everyone

Check The Dollar Tree or similar stores for large egg shapes to use as templates. I recently found a large felt egg (window decoration) that I'm going to trace for egg-shaped placemats and table toppers.
