Joan your fabric and w/ white seems pretty "modern" to me I'd play that up w/ a medium grey sashing (I think anyway)

I like that kassaundra. Maybe use corner stones for the sashing of the same orange fabric. That is if there is enough left.

Is anyone making a block for their quilt? I hope to make one block for each group, the Kona black and one for the grey, white and orange quilt tops.

I might just use the same idea for the white, orange and grey. I am just not sure if I will do orange corner stones or another grey, maybe a grey print of a different shade.

This is a Dewey block for Jaba. I found it tested my straight stitching and seams to the max. It's not perfectly accurate but it's certainly as good as I'll ever get it! Also, had a difficult time finding Jaba's solid brown, even after the LQS and JoAnn's yesterday. Neither had the right shade in a solid. I ended up using the back of a brown print from my stash. It is a very good match.

I hope you like this Jaba. It's out of the box - for me - but still nothing but boxes.

I will have to eventually. I've got more "ugly" greys, including the one I used on your block, and now suddenly I like them. I'd been looking at them all wrong. Once they're cut up, they're very nice. Im thinking of sending another set of greys in the next boom (oops, I said it again) and seeing what happens, plus I'll make some of my own blocks.

Hmmm I really liked your grey and might do something similar. For now I send white for one swap and black for the other and have been very happy with what everyone did with it. I do want to add more grey to the orange/white and grey so I am looking at grey sashing. Working with that much grey is pretty new for me too.
