It absolutely counts. While I made a quilt for our DGD before she was born, with fabrics picked by Mom & Dad; I made a pieced and appliqued quilt for Christmas when she was 3. It's a good thing I made it larger than the pattern because instead of a twin big girl bed she got a full size bed, thankfully it fit. It was truly a labor of love as I had torn the rotator cuff in my right shoulder, got the top done before surgery and managed to complete the quilting and put the binding on, with little time to spare on Christmas Eve. She loved it "very, very much". She's so adorable.
