Two crickets don't worry the machine is wired correctly. This is nothing major to fix. You are missing a couple of parts. One is the foot petal(is that what you refer to as a presser foot?). The second is the cord set block http://shop.sew-classic.com/Cord-Set...143-SCE143.htm. The plugs will plug into a specific outlet on the block. If you plug them into the wrong outlet it runs very fast. The foot petal will need to be wired into the cord block. This foot petal looks like the ones made during the machine's time http://shop.sew-classic.com/Foot-Con...TAL-SCE507.htm. If you like more control when sewing and a foot that stays cool this one will work also http://shop.sew-classic.com/Foot-Con...p-SCE168FC.htm . ( I have never ordered from that website but many members have and highly recommend it. The owner is very helpful if you have questions.) Please unplug the machine when not in use, it has no off switch. Cari types faster than I do!

Thanks! I've received my block and foot peddle (HA HA-presser foot) and this machine works like a dream. Now I just need a manual for the 770. Anyone found one yet? I am not threading it correctly but it works like a champ!

Hi have just one foot (zigzag). Some other foots in the manual but not with the machine. I got for free with the cabinet and a seat. My problem is the electric plug is broken, I will have to change it before I will be able to check if the machine work or not. The machine was buy in march 1960.
