I am also a convert to the Machingers. I used to use the garden gloves. Don't remember why I decided to purchase the Machingers but I immediately noticed how much cooler they were than the garden gloves. I would have to take the garden gloves off because they got too hot. However, I can wear the Machingers for long periods.

They aren't just for free motion quilting on your home machine. I like to wear the left one while sewing long pieces together. They give enough grip that I do not have to have my left hand as tense. I did not realize how much I was "gripping" fabric until I put one on and used it for this purpose. I can keep my hand more relaxed and just gently guide the fabric.

When mine are stained or dirty looking from the fabric I put them in the washing machine with any light colored items and wash.. They come out much cleaner..I do not put them in the dryer! Love mine, been using them for years. I too like them a little snug and always have a second pair if needed. Local quilt stores near me carry them for around 8$

I just looked online for these gloves and JoAnn's has them 40% off right now! $4.79. I think I hear my car starting and waiting for a trip to JoAnn's! I need spray baste so, lets use all of the coupons. Right?

The company's website has a hand pattern you can print out to figure out your size.

I like using them as well. I saw a tip on Craftsy to cut the tips off of the forefinger and thumb. I tried it on an old pair, and I really like being able to thread a needle now without taking them off. It doesn't interfere with the function of the gloves and makes them a bit cooler to wear.

When I first started quilting, used Fons and Porter yellow gloves until I wore holes in the finger tips. Then I moved to garden gloves, telling myself they were just as good as machinger gloves. I recently tried machinger gloves... WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Best 9 bucks I've ever spent!

I play English Hand Bells and the gloves for that have little grippy nubbies on them and I've been using them but now I'm convinced to try Machinger gloves. I have a gift certificate just waiting for the right thing!
