Mine is going to funky plaid hand appliqued birds, I think, so far the pattern I'd most like to play with. Will post a picture of the pattern a bit later.

I may also do some butterflies in autumn colors which are also hand appliqued. I don't do much applique so I would be practicing it on these two choices. Something different for me.

I found a table runner swap run by Carolinepaj, who also does this swap . It is similar, no restrictions except for a theme like autumn as an example. Free to make what you want in three months. I am going to play in both swaps. My horizons are expanding!

peace

It looks like many of us did get the wall hangins on their way inspite of the holliday season.

Kassaundra has a head start with the next wall hanging swap. Indeed way to go.

Like ube I am also contemplating doing applique this time around. I seem to like doing houses but I am not sure if you all aren't getting sick of barns and houses. Ube those plaid birds sound like fun. Can't wait to see them. I also noticed the table runner swap and it looks like fun but as I have never used table runners I am not sure or maybe because I do not own any I should do it. A runner for Thanks Giving /Fall would look nice.

Jaba I am also doing the mini kaleidoscope swap. I am not sure about minis but this one sounded do able and I am well on my way. My blocks are not super tiny but I looked at previous other mini swaps and many of them do not have those real tiny blocks. I like where it is going sofar.

Oh Anna, that kaleidoscope is kicking my you know what. I went with the Ricky Tims idea but remade the pattern to a 12" block. Less then a finished 1/2" piece I made for myself to sew...what in the world was I thinking?? apparently not at all, that's a tad small. Longest I have ever spent on a block in my life....2 days worth but I like it. I love the mini swap, kind of took the place of the doll quilt swap.
I have a vintage treadle Singer in my foyer as you enter the front door and I use them a bunch as a little topper on the lid. Everyone that comes to the house sees them right away, I even have people ask "What's new this month?"

Hmmm good idea on the treadle topper. I have two treadles in my living room. I might just put mine on top of one of them too. Your kaleidoscope sounds a bit scary. LOL Are you sure you want to do that pattern? I found lots of fun patterns when I looked online but some are definitely harder then others.

? What exactly is a kaleidoscope pattern. Is it a kin to the one block wonder which has a kaleidoscope effect. Are they interchangeable?
Thanks for info. I would like to try the mini swap too.

Celebrate well this 4th of July and remember why.
peace
