I love reversible quilts so the chevron is the back to the trip around the world beside it. I have friends that definitely like the colorful ones on the calm ones.

I apologize I haven't gotten back to you but this quilt is from a free tutorial called "Seven Shirts + Seven Steps = One Thrifty Quilt " You use 2 light men's shirts and 5 dark. There is only 2 blocks here a "Snowball" and a "9 patch". It's how you lay it out and the colors of shirts you choose. http://thethriftyquilter.blogspot.co...e-thrifty.html There are other tuts using this pattern but the shirts caught my eye too. It is a great quilt for a memory quilt using a loved one's shirts too. It is tied and when you do you put the thread through the buttons that come off the shirts. This is also the same pattern from yardage. http://www.andoverfabrics.com/Quilts/Alexandria.pdf

Yes these are men's shirts. Around here memory quilts are very popular. It is a way to keep and share memories of people that the grandchildren don't remember. Stories of your youth can be traces out in the blocks of recycled quilts. I'm glad you like it.

"I needed a small one for my grandson Zach. I have no sewing room and no place to display anything so I folded it in half and draped it across the front door."

Is this plaid quilt called the seven shirt quilt? I enjoyed the quilt show.

This is what happens when you don't read all of the post

Yes the red plaid is the 7 shirt quilt. Free tutorial is online. I think I left the link. Here it is again. It is easier to do than she writes it. She is making sure you have enough for the back. You may want to use something else for the back and do more blocks. It isn't a bed sized quilt. http://thethriftyquilter.blogspot.co...e-thrifty.html

Ok, you've graduated out of the beginner class now. With an A plus, says my grand daughter.
