I'm heading off across the water to the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham UK for the weekend and hoping to stock up on some novelty fabrics, trims and threads. Are there any special rulers, markers, gizmos etc that any of you can recommend? We have so few patchwork/quilting shops here that the majority I buy is online and with the extra postage it pays for my flight over. My 15 yr old is coming with me and we will have an empty suitcase to fill up.

Ball Frixion pens! I use those exclusively now to mark fabrics. Hit it with a hot iron and it disappears!
I'm a ruler junkie too, so any rulers that make cutting easier, or have neat techniques, I'm usually all over those at quilt shows. Have fun, I love big quilt shows, there are always new ideas and patterns to be had!

I am at a standstill right now it seems. Getting things done, but not moving ahead. There are times I tell others to not overthink it, just do it. Guess I need to tell myself that one as well. Or is it I set the bar so high for myself that I am thinking I might not make it right?

Beth you do wonderful work. These are not that hard to make and if you use a busy fabric it will hide a lot of small flaws. lol. We are all too hard on our selves. This is a fun swap with new and old friends. Don't think to hard or fret to much. Relax and whip one together. Have a good time.

Since there doesn't seem to be any new bags today I think I will post a couple pictures. Most of you remember my baby chicks right? Well here they are today 5 months old on the 14th of this month. I've gotten at least 1 egg a day for the last 3 weeks. They were small eggs at first now most are like the medium you buy. And these are all brown eggs. They are so sweet and love to talk to me.

Mary, there IS a new bag today! Look what Linda made me with fabulous flower fabric! Her first bag, and she did a wonderful job. When I opened the bag, I found many, many goodies to help me with future projects. Thanks so much Linda!

And Beth, I agree with Mary...you are too hard on yourself! You do phenomenal work on all your projects, and you probably are overthinking it. Hope things look brighter this afternoon.
