I am always amazed that with these scrappy quilts, anything you put together , however mismatched you may think it is, always comes together beautifully in the end. I have made many quilts where I randomly pull pieces out of a paper bag. Freeing - yes. Beautiful result- yes.

Oh,no! Add another quilt to my 'To Do' list. I just love this. The blocks, while small, are relatively simple. I'm hoping it can make a dent in my scrap bins. I'm just ready to start assembling Gypsy Wife, and this looks like a great next scrap quilt.

I am studying the pic beckybryan posted.....trying to figure out if there is a way to construct this with the minimum of chaos......my eye first hits the "trails", which seem to be the tiniest ones to make. So here's my thought: using a lite (ex. White) with other tonals or solids, making those 4 patches in sets of four...a bunch! Either in stratas or cut squares. Join them to the "rest of their components to make the larger block. Then proceed to making the other blocks - groups of one kind at a time, ..hmmmmm.

I made that quilt several years ago with some pretty ugly fabric (in my opinion). Gave it to my son who used to let his dogs sleep on his bed. The only thing I kept consistent were the "trails".....I used whites and yellows for the light colors. It tied it all together. He loved it.

Oh I like that. I have a hard time when I make a scrap quilt putting certain fabrics next to each other. The last one I made I forced myself to just put whatever I pulled out of my bin together. It looked great. It really bothered my eyes as I sewed them together but it looked great.
