Our bed is made every morning. Somehow getting into an "unmade bed" is just not the same.

I am very fussy about how my bed is made and hubs says that I should get a job in a hotel so I can have plenty of beds to make each day ....LOL. One is enough.

I like to think I'm AIRING the bed covers etc. Haha

Having a quilt on the bed makes it easy to make - just pull up the sheets and quilt, fluff the pillows, and voila.

It is my ritual to begin the day.

Our bed is always made. Sometimes I make it, sometimes my husband. I just feel emotionally better - like my life is more in order - when the bed is made. When our children were growing up I had quilts on their beds with throw pillows so it was easy for them to make their bed. They just had to pull the sheets and quilt up and put the pillow on top over their sleeping pillow. They were expected to make their beds.

Oh, yes, I do make my bed daily. My mother ingrained this into me. I also insisted that my 3 daughters make their beds. I don't add a pile of decorative pillows to my bed, but my daughters are quite creative with decorating their beds.

Just read somewhere last week that you should leave it open to air and dry (from body sweat) unless you are into changing sheets every day. Keeps it fresher.

It's hit and miss with me. I used to but my hubby comes home and naps. And I sure as heck am not making it twice! Before I got beds up in the grandkids room they napped on my bed so it had to be made on those days. Went through a phase where I was every morning but some nights hubs sweats and I like to leave it open to air out. Kids are gone from house. No more bedroom rules! And face it. Some days I am just too lazy!!!!

I take one day off a week and let the bed "breathe." That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. P.S. The cat objects to the one day of messy bed.
