"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away"
i have it as a frame with a newborn picture of my first grandson!
and this one my husband used to say to our kids all the time "do right, fear not!"

You can see only as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way. ~ E. L. Doctorow
Spectacular sunrises are sure to follow glorious sunsets, but we travel through darkness to reach that new day.
The key to discipline is to remember what you want.
Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Thomas Alva Edison
"Everyone who got where he is had to begin where he was." Pope John Paul II
Your greatest strengths, when carried too far, become your greatest hindrances to a happy life. When something isn’t done the way it should be done, it doesn’t very often matter. Judith Sills, Ph.D.
Wag more, bark less
Before you criticize someone. You should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you are a mile away, and you have their shoes.

I like a quote from "Aunt Jane of Kentucky" by Eliza Calvert Hall
"When I'm dead and gone there ain't anybody goin' to think o' the floors I've swept and the tables I've scrubbed, and the old clothes I've patched, and the stockin's I've darned...But when one of my grandchildren sleeps on one of those quilts, they'll think about me and, wherever I am then, I'll know I ain't forgotten.

OH!! I just thought of two more..don't have any idea who said them first, but they are priceless. My mom had a cross-stitch that said, "Dust is a protective covering for furniture!" And my friend had one..."You can admire the dust, but please don't write in it!"
