Default What do I have here for my $30.00 investment?

I have been looking for s singer base to have a quilt stand made from it. I did not think I would get the machine and cabinet along with it for such a low price. I have no idea what I have here. Would appreciate any comments from all the experienced Singer machine members out there.

For $30, a machine I would kill for. So want a treadle that I could fix up. Nice find - wished I lived closer, I'd try to talk you into selling it to me. Enjoy! Now someone can come along and tell you what you really have.

If you look at the serial # just below the bobbin winder, you can then go to the ISMAACS site and it will tell you the specific model number and when it was produced.

27 model the "dog tag" access panel is a huge hint. I hope you have the slide that is not shown. Also check and see if it has a shuttle under that by turning the handwheel a bit and looking for a silver bullet. If it has thread from the silver bullet, it may have a bobbin in it too. great score.

A nice model 27, Sphinx decals in reasonably good condition (very careful when cleaning, they can turn silver or disappear). The sphinx decals are two toned silver and gold to begin with, they were made like that. It's a very nice cabinet (much in need of cleaning, polish and a bit of repair). If you are lucky there's bits and bobs in the drawers, but for this model parts are easily found, like slide plates for bobbin; feet and shuttle.

$30 you did good. Nothing like that here at that price. Lots of advice and suggestions on finding info. Please let us know what you find out.
