My hunter's star took maybe a week, generous lap size quilt, here is the site that I used: www.cascadequilts.com. It's very easy pattern, no special rulers needed.

I heartedly second Michelle's comments about Deb Tucker's Ra[id Fire Hunters Star tools!!! They make cutting and piecing these go so fast and accurate!

Jennie Doan's video is great. Made a wedding quilt top in a couple of days. Make block and put it on your wall to follow. Easy.

The Rapid Fire Hunter's Star Ruler should cut your time by leaps and bounds. There is a learning curve, but once you've mastered it you may make several quilts!

This looks like an easy way to make the Hunters Star. This is Jenny and she does things the way I like, easy as possible and pretty to boot.

Onebyone, I love that Add a Quarter ruler. My quilting buddy around the corner dropped one off at my house the other day and I thought geez what would I need that for but once I started using it to trim off my paper piecing edges I was hooked. Love, love, love that ruler now. I like that it has the beveled edge.

Shorebird, I have the rapid fire by Deb Tucker just for doing the Hunter Star but have yet to try it out. Will have to try it out now that folks are saying it speeds up making the blocks. Thanks for the tip.

I used Jenny Dian's video also. It was great, I made it a planned scrappy. I entered it in the local fair in September and it was "spotlighted" along with a quilt made with two colors, in the same pattern. We both got 2nds. It was so neat to see a pattern side-by-side made differently! Sorry, I don't know how to post pics from iPad to here!

I agree that Deb Tucker's Rapid Fire tool is the way to go! Blocks are absolutely perfect and once you get the hang of it, it does go quickly! 50 blocks? Way to go!
