You could do the "wavy straight" stitch through the small squares in both directions, then through the HST in the other direction. You would still end up with a "crosshatch" pattern, but you would not have to worry so much about hitting the points/corners just right, etc.

I think an all over design, either a meander/large stipple or Baptist Fan.

I would go with concentric circles or swirls. Circular designs set off linear patterns nicely. It will be beautiful - whatever you decide.

very pretty quilt. I have no idea for quilting as I am like you with FMQ. Check your batting means how far apart it needs to be stitched. Can you get away with 8 inches or does it require 2 - 4 inches apart to keep it stable.

I think she means that you need to make sure that your quilting (whichever design/method you decide on) meets the spacing required per the batting- i.e. if it's 4 inches apart maximum space, then your design needs to fill that closely so that the batting doesn't shift/separate over time.

What a beautiful top. I'd ditch around all the small squares, by working my way up one side the diagonally and down the other in each of the V's. Then i'd find something to do in the spaces between. FMQ feathers would be my first choice, but straight lines that meet in the base of the V's would be equally effective. Best of luck on quilting.

I think I would quilt on the diagonal also. You have done a magnificent job - I love your quilt!
