You are so blessed with such wonderful friends. I have an old black singer , but it needs a potted motor or all new wireing for it and the foot pedal I guess, but here in Fulton,Ms I can't find anyone whom could help me to get it going again. It sewed beautifully before it started smoking after I had it cleaned and oiled. Now it doesn't work and I would love to get it going again. Once again congrats to a beautiful find on your doorstep.

You have a nice friend who values you more than hanging on to valuable stuff that she doesn't use. Congratulations on the machine, and on the friend!

How lucky you are to have such a wonderful friend. She is a treasure as is your new toy. Enjoy both.

I have a 1948 FW and if you are interested in others with this lovely little machine you might want to google Carmon and April Henry who run a FB group with tons of links and great information on this little wonder. I don't think I'm allowed to post a link to their site but check out as many Featherweight sites as you can.

Lucky you!!! I think you'll love using it too. They really do make a great looking stitch. I've made a couple of small quilts recently on mine and really enjoyed it. (one hint: don't try to get a new tire on the bobbin winder wheel...they don't use a tire).

I am cleaning one up for a friend of a friend, so far bad belt and broken handwheel washer. The motor started after soaking in oil for half a day. It is going to be a great machine when it gets the new belt. Good times with yours. I should say the gears started turning not the motor. My bad.
