Here are two things to remember:

1) "A neat desk is the sign of a sick mind." Can the same be said of a sewing room?

2) "People who have neat desks all the time spend more time keeping their desks clean than they do actually working." Can the same be said of a sewing room?

I think both statements are true. I don't have enough time to keep the scraps and threads off the floor and the top of the cutting table and the sewing table. I'm too excited about putting the cut up fabric back together.

That's my story, and I am sticking to it! Ha! Ha!

As for your "messy" sewing room: I can still see clean, bare floor. This room is lived-in and loved. It's NOT messy!

Only clean when you can't find things!

I so agree with Tartan, but maybe a bomb and a hurricane in mine. I like the idea of light and dark for your blocks.

Your room looks great. If it was overly neat & tidy, then you aren't creating & having fun. I like to start out with a semi- clean room but it surely doesn't stay that way long.

Looks like work in progress and looks good to me. I, too, like Log Cabin blocks, but haven't seen the clam shell design before.

Looks good to me too. My sewing area is located on one wall in my bedroom, so horizontal space is at a premium, plus when I start working on project(s) it gets worse. I have no choice, but to move some stuff from the tables to my bed; which means that unless I want to sleep in a bed piled high with fabric and stuff; I have to move it off the bed and back onto the tables; so my room is always a disaster.

I always say I can spend time cleaning up my sewing room or I can spend time sewing. You guessed it, I would rather spend time sewing.
