Self Cleaning Oven
#32
Thanks for all the tips! I did the the self cleaning yesterday afternoon. I was nervous because of such high temperatures, but I had DH home so that made me feel safer. It actually wasn't bad at all, with barely any soot to wipe up in the end. I only did it because we will be moving and , dog-gone-it! I want my deposit back in full I don't feel safe using it all the time, that's for sure.

My oven totally freaks me out as well, because of the high temp. I just make sure I'm home, the windows are open, and my husband is home too! But I'm sure it won't hurt you. They really do a good job.
PS. If someone invented self-cleaning floors I would be a truly happy woman

Any advice on the glass window? I would love for that to be cleaner.[/QUOTE]
You can clean glass very well with DRY baking soda. It can take some elbow grease if the glass is very dirty. I usually vacuum up the residue when I'm done then you can wipe with a damp cloth to finish cleaning. This also cleans chrome very well. I use this method on my toaster oven all the time(well, not as often as I should LOL).

I love mine. Yes the temp. goes high but it has to to get the results you need to clean the oven. Now that I am older bending to clean a oven is not something I can not do anymore so mine is a must.

Our self-cleaning oven gets to 800 degrees. I run the oven cleaner on a nice clear day. The high temp. doesn't bother me, as much as the dirty oven!!
Don't know about being pregnant and running it; call the co. you bought it from, and they will tell you. Good luck! Mariah
