Need suggestions for auction.
I am in charge of providing a fundraiser for my guild. I am going to have a Penny Social, (well it's really $5) I will have nice items set out with a pot next to each prize. Members will buy tickets and put as many tickets in each pot of the item they want to win. I'm thinking 50 tickets for $5. Some call this a Chinese auction but I like Penny Social better. My question is how do I do the tickets? Keeping up with 50 or many more ticket stubs may be too much or writing your name 50 or more times on paper may be too much. Anyone have a good idea?

you could have a registration list...
name, phone number, ticket numbers issued to this person. when the winner is drawn, then the winning number would have to be looked up on the list.

My guild does something similar. We encourage everyone to bring in printed address stickers. Before the meeting each quilter puts her stickers on her tickets, so when the ticket is drawn it already has the winner's name on it. We don't have to deal with ticket stubs that way.

usually at Chinese auctions you'll get a piece of paper with your number ...405.
then you get 10 tickets with '405' printed on it. they put the little tags in and keep te big tag.
you call out 405, and they produce the big tciket.

Print them out and cut up between the numbers, then all the person needs to do is to tear off the individual number for their entry. Fifty would easily print onto a sheet of paper, and leave them with the big number for their ID.

For our quilt show my guild does a book - we write name, address or phone and range of tickets down.
then when we draw, we just check the number against the ranges written in the book and we know where to call!
These events are very popular. We are calling it the Basket auction now.
