Goodness, but I am impressed with how quickly some of you finished clue #2. All of them look wonderful. I am intimidated by FQ I guess and have tried just about every method. The no waste method seems best to me, but even then I got some wonky ones and can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Here they are with a few extra. I've tried to go outside my comfort level with the neutrals, but it is a gradual process.

Julie the only real color/tone tip Bonnie suggested at the beginning is what ever you choose for brown needs to be the darkest color. I think the right hand blue would read as dark? Nice choices!

I'm scrappy because I stopped buying fabric in 2001, I don't have enough of Anything to use just one fabric Except a 6+ yard of white with green toile. I dispair of ever finding a good use for it.
I have about 3/4 of my flying geese finished, I'm just taking my own sweet time, happily. Our holidays are really quiet, the best part of it is the mystery, believe it or not.
I'm using the companion angle to cut the geese,.........
deleted couple of sentences here, it sounded to me too much like directions

Everyone's flying geese look so great! Love seeing all the different fabric/color combos. I'm still working on mine, not sure I'll be finished by Friday. I'm using the easy angle and companion angle rulers. I've always had trouble with flying geese but so far these are looking pretty good.

I love seeing everyone's progress. I'm still working on the geese... I did figure out what to do about darks (Bonnie's browns). Found a dark purple Paula Nadelstern , some scraps of dark maroon batik and several dark brown batik FQs, all in my stash, so that's enough to give a little variety anyway. Here's a picture, some of the blues are a bit dark, but depending on where in the quilt they land, it may be ok. My neutrals aren't in the pic, they are all scraps and run from white on white, to beige prints and light to medium value batiks that have grayed out colors.
Haven't started on the 1st clue yet, maybe this weekend I can make some progress on it.

Rob - I like your colour selections. Nicely daring but not too so! And your "browns" look great to me.

Beautiful fabrics, Rob!
GramE and Windblown, your units are so beautiful, it's making me question whether scrappy is the way to go. Both of you made such wonderful choices for your fabrics. In a way, going scrappy eliminates the need to make major fabric decisions, since you're using just a little of lots of different fabrics.
My side geese pieces would not stay put, which was causing me to do lots of ripping. Finally I started putting a dot of glue baste-it at the top of the piece, and now I finally feel as though I am making progress.

GramE, I love your pieces! This is my first BH quilt and my first scrappy. I almost wish I would have done something along the lines of your choices. It is almost overwhelming trying to figure out which color where.
