What a thoughtful friend you are. The two sided quilt was a great idea too. She gets to enjoy both lovely sides and you got rid of a UFO..........a win-win.

Really nice looking quilt -- front and back. Is that 1/2 inch sashing around the mini blocks?

the mini blocks, yes. i cut the uneven four patches down to four inches and had to make them five inches to fit the charms. I put one inch strips around the four patches. voila! five inches again.
