Very impressed that you sewed this by hand, out of denim. Congratulations on your lifestyle change, keep up the good work. I like to do hand sewing with needle turn applique and am currently working on a Hawaiian Wall hanging, its nice to be able to have something sitting next to my chair that I can grab to work on besides a potato chip. Your quilt is totally delightful. Your story is even better. What you may find out is that quilting is an addiction of its own and a lovely one at that. Doing a denim quilt by hand is not a small task. My hat is off to you for the quilting and personal challenges that you have overcome!

well you did it. to me that is. i had two pairs of jeans in a bag for charity but decided to cut the legs off and keep them for a quilt. black and brown jeans which i never ever have. my sister sent some old clothes to me. now i will give jean shorts to charity!!

That, is a fabulous quilt, love your frogs! That had to be a labor of love, hand quilting it so nice and even is an even bigger accomplishment. Nicely done. All a sewing machine would add to you work is the ability to make quilts a bit more rapidly. With your skill, you could do as I did for the first twenty years. My DD (dear daughter) bought me an inexpensive machine from Walmart, and I did all of my quilting work by buying two feet that did not come with the machine (walking foot, and 1/4” seam guide foot). Just keep your machine lint cleaned out, don’t sew over pins, hand advance through thick seems, and have fun! Welcome to this board from Oregon!
