I really like your big stitches. I have a question. Are you going to stitch on both sides of the seam like the top picture shows?

If you do you will get the effect of a small star in the center of the pinwheel which would be cool. A lot of work but worth it.

    peace

Edit: I thought this picture would show another option.

oh no, the tapestry needle has a round point to slip thru cross stitch holes in fabric. A chenille needle has the same big eye as a tapestry needle but a sharp point like a sharp or a quilting needle. Use that instead. Good Luck.

I really like the hand quilting you have started on the “correct” quilt. :-) I hope I don’t miss it when you post the finished quilt. Just a comment about the first quilt.....I love-love-love the amount of quilting that has been done on this quilt. Not only will the amount of quilting stabilize the quilt for the next 100+ years, but it is beautiful. Remember, “the quilting is what makes the quilt”!

I like big stitch too, and didn't know what needle to use, thanks Jane.

To the original question. I personally would have not went straight thru to the next block, but just went around the triangles, like the pic ube quilting showed. There is no true way to quilt anything, it's yours, and I think it will look great. Can't wait to see the pic when finished.

I use Thimblelady XL needles or chenille needles. You want something sharp with a large enough eye to accommodate your bigger thread.

I love the look of big stitch quilting. Your stitches are perfect! Beautiful quilt now and will be spectacular when finished. Hope I see the finished picture.
