Happylab: That is a wonderful quillow!

I should have a finish by the end of the week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I pulled a UFO and decided on the quilting plan last night. Backing and batting is already cut too so now on to making the sandwich.

My quilting curse has finally been lifted! First, my old machine, which I had been taking apart and putting back together for the last year, finally died. Then, just when I got a new machine, I sprained my finger and messed up my wrist!

And I have a UFO (sort-of) finished, at least for now. I started it about 3 years ago, and have been collecting the souvenirs for over 10 years. It is a denim quilt that I attached most of my souvenir patches, pins, and even smashed pennies onto. I can't really call it finished, since I intend to keep adding more mementos to it as I go on new excursions in the future! (and, tbh, I'm positive I have another box of goodies hidden away somewhere that I will also add when I find them.)

But, once I take it to the laundromat for a good washing, it will be ready to go in the car for future picnics and camping trips. I posted it separately, but here is a pic:

1. Krisb = dance of the Drangonflies #881
2. Teen = Donated blocks to the Church #894
3. Kristakz = #rd quilt from yellow/gray and white fabric #9
4. Rryder = 3 clothesline trivets (not a quilt project, so not included in total monthly count) This 3 trivets are worth mentioning.

Again thank-you everyone.

Hey Happylab,
Thanks for mentioning my trivets. In past years we’ve included UFOs that were not traditionally thought of as finished quilts in the monthly count. My trivets and bowls were counted before and I think we counted some other types of sewing projects too. Since we do count objects that are not finished by quilting, but are instead removed from the pile by being donated, thrown away or turned into a non-quilted finished item it seems to me that we can count the trivets

Very nice quillow, Happylab!

Krisb- congratulations on your new Sweet Sixteen- I have one too, they’re fantastic machines!

Cool quilt JJBlaine- i really like the way the smaller mementos add pops of color to the gray and black!

Oh JJ!!!! That is awesome! What a very cool idea.... You got a great momento of your of travels...and, as Rob said, that gray and black is a perfect backdrop for your colorful patches and such... Really love this!!

Kris....Sweet 16 delivered? Have you mastered it yet? I've had my eye on that for awhile...

i finished the quilt top for the polka dot explosion. Just need to do applique borders but those are easy peezy. Then I can quilt it...doing that on my domestic and plan a simple Quilt plan of mostly STID. I did trapunto on appliques so I want a poofy, mushy, cuddly quilt.

I posted pic on Jen Kingwell thread but here it is again... It's a busy quilt....
