Boom 21 - Dunes

Your shelving rack is step 1 in your process of organizing. Just try to honest with yourself about what you will use and finish and what you can let go of. It’s tough! I’m going through it with some other craft items as well as my accumulated “stuff” from almost 40 years. If I ever hope to downsize, I’ve got to do it. It actually makes me feel good to get rid of things through donation whenever possible. Less burden! Hope you find a way to clear out some items too. Good luck!

Terriamn, I also just bought a large shelving rack yesterday. My plan is to put in the closet for storage. I also bought 2, 3 drawer unit. My plan for those will be to label drawers for scrapes (light, medium, & dark) and also Christmas scrapes, & maybe fat quarters. In my sewing room, I also have the 8 cube wood shelf units from Target that I placed against one wall and use this for storing fabric stash. I refold the fabric on comic boards.
I suggest to spend a little time each day (or week) on organizing, instead of doing it all at once. It's always a work in progress.

Pamela believe me I wish you were closer, I have 22 years of fabric here. Most great fabric but just not what I would use now. UFo’s. Yikes really need to set aside time for them
D. Hanson right now such a mess will need to stick to it so I can find my sewing machine, cutting table, floor and iron. Bought 10 new matching plastic containers to start with. Will have booms in one and who knows in the rest. Really not many scraps as I give them away. Just getting ready to head down there right now

Just the word "organize" makes me shudder! I bought two big standing shelf units from Ikea about a year ago and now there's not a space free on them. I need to get on the train with you guys and start culling stuff.

Janice - keep safe - Winds and rains and tornados - let us know all is ok
Organize - I am a bit OCD on this one. All my fabric (FQ and larger) is color filed in plastic containers. I then have tall plastic drawer units - drawers with candy and charms, Booms, etc. My UFO projects are each in 15 x 15 zip lock bags- including pattern, material etc. I just pulled out two bags - each with a finished top, and backing fabric from 7 years ago! I have been seriously working on using what I have. I am actually making a game of what I can do with all my pieces and colors!

I have some of my fabric in 2 units that have 12 drawers in one and 8 in the other. All the drawers are different colors so I try to keep my blue in the blue, red in the red etc in the 8 drawer bigger unit. The other I keep my "favorite" fabric in by color. I got one of the units at Sams wholesale...Of course I have 3 3drawer clear plastic tubs that I keep other fabric in and magazines. Doesnt account for the fabric laying here and there though! LOL..Ill never be completely organized but my house is so small I have to do something with it. About a year ago I offered fabric I knew Id never use to a couple of people on QB and sent a box to them. Both were making charity quilts so it felt good to pay it forward.

Good morning. We survived Michael. We had higher winds and more rain than we anticipated but all seems ok. Once the sun is up shortly, we’ll get a better look. It’s supposed to be a gorgeous day. Damage was very bad elsewhere so there’s nothing to complain about here. Thanks for checking on me. <3
