love to quilt

I'm looking for a pattern, sewn or knitted, for a baby shawl. (like a sweater but no sleeves). Newborn to 6 months. I'm posting this from Manitoba, Canada, so maybe someone near the border, (Minnesota U.S) OR area. An addition to my family in late January. Thanks to anyone who answers. (P.S. this is our 8th grandchild - the only one being born in January) Thanks again.

Do you mean something like a poncho? If so, I have a knitted pattern complete with hood. Off hand I am not sure what the exact size is.
