Happy Belated New Year!
Lots of great ideas and motivation here, as always.... My whole life needs to be organized better right now. We had a kitchen reno started here in FL in May that was supposed to be finished in August while we were still in New England and you guessed it, it's not done yet. So, everything is pretty much where it shouldn't be. My sewing space is overrun with kitchen stuff etc. But we are trying to do what we can to make the space more live-able and less cluttered.
Thank goodness for hand sewing. My hexie project is keeping me sane. Easier to keep organized, too.

Moving to a (slightly)smaller place, and my sewing room will not have room for all the things that bring me joy! I am trying to make tough decisions and keep only those things that bring me the most joy. This means selling some of my machines, and keeping only the furniture that will fit in the new room. it is an ongoing struggle!

Ah tough decisions, Trene. Good luck in your downsizing.

I decided to take the time this weekend and sort my HST parts by color as they were already sorted by size. This is the biggest bag and it is the 2” finished bag. Amazing how long it took to sort.

A couple more bags are left but they will go quickly.

We had a ‘snow shower’ that lasted the whole morning! Not much accumulation but the forecast is for 5-9” tomorrow afternoon into Monday. Then deep freeze time with actual temps to be -26 or so. Brrr!

Stay warm and safe everyone.

Ah Connie...that was me last year...sorting HST's...I more or less sorted by lights and darks after sizes. The last batch of HST's that came in were already presorted! I thanked the donator. So what's the plan with yours? I've used some in a maverick star I am working on.

Yes I was surprised at the burst of snow we had too...not looking forward to this next week and neither is MrOk and Farmer Son/DIL.

Oops. Forgot my picture on my HST parts for 2”.

oksewglad: Excessive snow and excessive cold is so hard on farmers and families and their livestock. I remember we would leave our water dripping slowly because we were afraid the pump house would freeze up. I remember you sorted yours last year but not that you did light/dark. Nice donator to separate the triangles into colors. I am not sure what I will do with them but I know it was frustrating looking through the 2” finished bag for some blues for the BH Mystery so I decided it was time. Hopefully, I will put any I find in my scrap bins in the correct bags now.

Okay, so now I am curious...Connie and Oksewglad...what do you use HSTs for, do you have a favorite project for them? I have cut 2 1/2 in squares in bins for projects but not HSTs.

My HST's are leftover trimmings from making binding, flying geese waste triangles. I get donations from friends with their leftovers. Here's a couple of projects I have made. The pinwheels at the top were made from gifted leftovers. The basket points in this one. I finished another one like this but larger blocks this fall. All the HST's in this Bonnie Hunter quilt were waste triangles.. And countless mini quilts like these.

Great use of leftover triangles, OK! I have used some of mine, but have to admit, most just get dropped into the trash bin. Maybe I should be saving them for you!

I'm curious about the HSTs also. I have been rearranging my sewing room. I found a large container of 2 i/2" strips. I have spent the last couple of days arranging them into colors. I also found a shoe box full of 9 patch blocks.
