    Default Machine problem

I have a small Viking 100q. I haven’t used it lately as life got in the way. Went to use it yesterday. The machine turns on. Lights go on, can pick out different stitches, needle up and down etc. I go to sew and nothing. The thread winder is not on and I am at loss why it won’t sew. Motor won’t switch on. I have cleaned changed needles, bobbins etc. Any ideas? Thanks Deb

Make sure the plug for the foot pedal is full engaged, otherwise I am out of ideas!

It has the Start/Stop button that lets you sew without the foot control. Can you sew that way?
On computerized machines, if the lights come on but it won't sew, sometimes it's the power circuit board.
If you've removed any panels to clean deeply, you may have disconnected one of the cables that connects to the circuit board.

Sounds like a cable inside is disconnected or just loose.

My issue was almost like this, I have a larger Viking, it was the power supply, its only about 150 repair for mine. But it had to go to the dealer

Turn off your machine, unplug all cables and cords. Let is it for a hour or so, plug back in. Sometimes our machine need this to reboot. Do Check all electrical connections. best wishes for a quick fix!

I plug my machines into a power strip. Sometimes I forget to turn it back on. I figured out that I could leave the light on, so when I go to do something on my machine and it won't start, I look for the light.

A few months ago my Brother was like that. Read the manual and followed directions, but still would not sew. Finally looked it up on the internet, found my problem and followed those directions. All it was I needed to do certain steps in a certain way to reset the machine. You might try looking up on internet and following step by step their directions.

I agree with Lady Diana that you may want to try and unplug everything and let it rest for awhile. This happened to me on another machine and it just seems to be rebooted or something. Good luck-I know that is so frustrating when you are ready to sew.
