All Fields fabrics carry garment fabric. They have a large selection. Quilting cottons, knits, rayons etc. I worked there 20 yrs ago at the store on 44th St & they had all of that plus bridal, drapery and upholstery. That is 1 of my stops when I return for AQS in G.R. each yr.

Thrums, as you make you way south to visit the northern Indiana shops, stop in Grand Rapids or Muskegon or Portage to see Fields Fabrics. They are, as mentioned, a small Michigan, family owned, chain that has good fabrics for anything from fleece to lace to leather to sequined gown fabric to wide back for your quilts. They are my "go to" for quilting fabric. What find that is nice is if you find what you want but there is not enough yardage, they will contact their other stores while you wait and then make arrangements for it to be sent to you. Good customer service. And if you are shopping in the store, they will help you find what you want or leave you alone as you desire. Their sales folk sew too and know their way around projects just like we do.

Nice site! I really like how you can put the thumbprints into columns. It's saves on the seeming endless scrolling. I found some reasonable fabric for my first dress. Thanks!

I do plenty of garment/home decor sewing besides quilting. My #1 shop here in Los Angeles' garment/fashion district is Michael Levine's. It's available online as well at: https://www.lowpricefabric.com/ They cut samples although I am not sure that they do so for online orders. You can ask them.
Give them a try.
