    Default Dresden Plate wedding quilt

My daughter got married this past May. I asked her to choose a pattern, colors and fabrics for a quilt for the two of them. She chose a Dresden plate quilt. I've never made one of those before and looked forward to the new experience! Once I had the grunt work finished (making 420 blades), the rest was quite enjoyable, although I did forget how tedious it is to quilt a queen sized quilt without the luxury of a longarm. I did enjoy decorating it by adding a flanged binding. Hope you enjoy it too!

Beautiful, quilt and quilting! I would love to learn those feathers and do as well as you . Very creative of you to set your Dresden like this. I have never seen it blocked this way but I like it.

That quilt is really, really beautiful. I really like how you have separated the plates with the colors in the blades. I don't know the term for the separations but I hope you know what I mean. Your DD did great in picking out that pattern & the fabrics/colors. She will cherish it forever.

I can't take the credit for the pattern. All I did was enlarge it from an 83" quilt.
