A question... has anybody used the Elmers glue sticks? This just gave me an idea to help my DIL as she is learning to piece. The pins seem to be worrisome to her so she overcompensates in the seam area before removing the pins. I cringe but i can see what she is trying to accomplish with her work around! Might make it a little easier till she gets a little more experience.

I really like Roxanne Basting glue too. There are different containers for specific applications and I refill those. The best glue stick I have used is the Apliquick glue stick. It's not smeary or messy.

I also use the school glue exclusively. I bought a small bottle with a tiny tip that can be rinsed out and cleaned for future applications. I got it at the Wi Quilt Extravaganza last year and it's the BEST!

Remember, Roxanne glue is Elmer's.....Love the Roxanne needle tip....but always refill with Elmers, the Roxanne glue is way too expensive for what it truly is. I purchased the bottle/tip, but always use the Elmers in it.

You should be using washable Elmer's Glue not permanent. Its just a temporary fix for when you want seams to match up. As someone mentioned it might harden and that's not what you want. I use Elmer's Glue for attaching my bindings, matching up difficult seams intersections alot of times but I want it to wash out when I'm all done. I bought the wrong bottle once and I keep that separate from my other Elmer's Glue bottles so I don't accidently use it on my fabrics.

I marked my Elmer's Craft glue with a black marker in large letters "Not Washable" as a reminder in case I'd grab the wrong bottle.
My Grands love using the School glue to hold down binding before they machine sew the final stitching.

Wow! I just looked it up and it is expensive! I think I'll stick with Elmers.
