    Clip, I'm still looking for an actual pattern but here's a tutorial for a "shadow" quilt, basically the quilt you like is just one more row on the block and sashing I think between the rows. All the blocks are made the same but positioned differently.

    These are so beautiful. The colors, prints and patterns are all stunning. And the quilting is perfect for these quilts! I am sure his son will be beyond happy with his quilt.
