    Default Thread color for quilting Lone Star quilt

    What color would you use to quilt this top? I was thinking burgundy but I don't know how that would look on the star. Maybe brown? Thanks.

    I always stick with cream or off white. Some quilters will use a gray...depends on if you want your quilting to show or not I guess.

    If you want the thread to blend in then I would probably use brown. If you want to do fancy quilting in the burgundy background that would be more visible then a lighter colour would show up more. I match my top and bottom thread to avoid trouble so I would want a colour that would look good on the back also.

    Something in a slightly muted gold bordering on a brushed antique brass in color that is a tone in the gold batik you used. Are you using Glide? If so, I will check my thread chart a little later.

    i think a brown, in the same value range as the burgandy, would work out well.

    I usually use a grey thread. It usually blends the best for my preference.

    Thanks everyone. I think I'm going with brown. The back is a tan color print. I'll post a pic when I get done.
