That’s understandable. My mother made quilts in my youth but stopped when she got older. I’m starting late but my workspace was designed with ergonomics in mind to minimize excessive strain. I plan to make lap quilts in the beginning and work up to larger pieces. I’m certain a longarm would make the process much easier.

    Default New Sewing Room

I have a new sewing room...sold my home of 57 years, youngest daughter and hubby built a new home and a suite for me, bedroom, bath and sewing room...I had to wait on Ikea but finally got all my pieces from them..2 bookcase cabinets with glass doors, shelves inside and drawers below and a bookcase to go in between...sewing desk, with one drawer unit on each end for sewing machine and computer..I have a 14ft X 24Ft with 10ft ceilings...so lots of room for all my sewing machines,, cabinet with 301, singer treadle..3 featherweights, 2 black and one white and a very large closet..walls are pretty well covered also with shelves, peg board, thread racks and decor.. got a tshirt quilt ready for layering and quilting that I just finished on my new Janome 6700P machine...love it..
So I'm a happy camper right now..took awhile to get it up and running but so thankful for my new sewing room...gotta get Daughter to take pics so I can post them...for all to see..
