Muv, thanks for the info on the script!! (I've also enjoyed looking around your website and picking up useful information there.)

Caroline, I would have been a nervous wreck during the auction too! Luckily, I found my machine on craig's list and didn't have to go through that, but I did have to wait a couple of weeks to pick up my machine and the lady had promised to hold it for me, which she did.

I told my hubby as soon as I saw the listing for the machine that I would be stupid not to buy the machine for $75. (It even came with a cabinet, but it's a later version so all I was really interested in was the machine head.) I thought it was a great find from the start, and now I know it was.

Default Found another Singer 15sv10 with Indian Star

It's been a few years since I originally posted with questions about my Singer find, and I thought I would give an update. In 2019 I found another machine, just like the first in not quite as nice condition. Serial numbers are AG044157 and AG050555. I'm including a few photos. I'm still curious about why these machines were made but I suppose we will never know for sure. Both of my machines were bought in the same geographical area.

Hi Jodi, I have the same machine I picked up at flea market a couple of weeks ago. I would like to know if you still have a manual for it as mind did not come with one. I would love to get a copy of it if at all possible. I would be willing to pay for it. My email address is [email protected]

I'm pretty sure I have the correct manual, but will look tomorrow and let you know.

Hi Jodie, I was just checking to see if you had time to see if you found the manual for the Singer 15sv10.

I found this site https://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/decals/decal29 According to it, these machines were made for export to India. The points of the star have Singer in different Indian languages. Very interesting! I'm going to have to keep reading

So now I am curious.....what area of the country are you finding those special variation machines? That might be another interesting clue to the whole mystery. Maybe it was one Singer store who happened to have those decals and offered them to customers.....
