    I don't know a name, but it looks like it was made by strip piecing. The stripe is cut in a horizontal length and sewn to a dark. Then pressed open... and cut with a 60 degree template ruler, all down the strip. The triangles are sewn together and then bordered with the skinny strips and then the background 4 corners are added. BUT... this pic looks like it's made of wood, like a barn quilt.

    It definitely looks like something painted on wood. But I think sewbizgirl's method would work

    It is a painted piece. It seems in the recesses of my mind that I've seen this pattern before, but perhaps not. I will copy your instructions and try it out.
