What about a hot mat to put a casserole dish on top of? I have a couple oversized hot pads for just that reason. Used that last of my fabric I made tableclothes, curtains, placemats and appliance covers.

Like others, my thoughts went quickly to a table mat for hot dishes.
Or as a mini quilt laying on a coffee table, desk, side table or wherever ... just to pretty things up for the holidays, but be ready to jump into action as a mug rug with a treat, on a moment's notice!

I made 2 smaller ones and have to the pecan guy for his wife. Dale brought us pecans this year, after my husband’s had his accident, the day we were to meet him to pick up. I thought the least I could do is make something for them.
