SBG, did you do Merry Mayhem yesterday?

SusieQOH, love your XS ornaments! Keep up with that PT and you’ll be sewing soon.

Logcabin, your froggie top turned out great! (I see my block!)

Look at all those fun frogs! Even in the sashing! This turned out great.

Suzi, you cross stitched ornaments look perfect. You are good with hand needle and thread!

Yes, Janice I did decide to do Merry Mayhem's one day mystery quilt yesterday. I had to play catch up with selecting and cutting fabric, so I used my scrap strips. I managed to get nearly all the blocks made and only need to sash and cornerstone them. I sewed all day! It's so scrappy that I may have to use either black or white for sashing... I'll show y'all soon.

I need one more square for the Autumn Boom and found it on "Conquering Mt. Scrapmore with Brenda". Easy and I can use an Americana scrap and cream or white on white. Block is called Scrappy Knots. I have attached a photo, poor quality because I edited a screen shot to eliminate Brenda from the picture. (I always seem to catch her mid-word which is not particularly flattering.) All of her blocks are free for anyone to use. I included the tutorial but really, it is so simple we all be wondering why we did not think of it. Or may be you have!!

SBG, if you google "Conquering Mt. Scrapmore with Brenda - Free Block Friday" on YouTube, you will be sent down a l-o-n-g rabbit trail of videos and blocks. I started saving a list with modified directions and YouTube links. They really are all simple and she is just a hoot to listen to. Mistakes and corrections let us know she is a quilter just like us. Primarily classic patterns sewn on classic machines. So far the Free Block Friday patterns have all been 12" finished. Other days, other blocks and other sizes.

Thanks WMUT! Will check her out.

Here is my completed top from the Merry Mayhem New Year's Day mystery. I did only the throw size, but it's a nice big throw. It was a fun sew, and I used up a bunch of scrap strips. If anyone wants to collect the "clues", better get to MerryMayhem.com before midnight. That's the end of it being free. Tomorrow it goes into her online shop.

This quilt is supposed to get a wide outer border. Don't know if mine will....

Hello Boomers!
Janice - your quilt is amazing. I am in awe. I vote for a simple border to make it all pop out.
LogCabin - great finish on those wonderful frogs
Sewbiz - one day?/ you did that in one day - and a mystery to boot. I am wordless!

I finished your blocks and loved them. Definitely hard in a small area and nowhere to spread it out so made many a booboos. Used up all my scrap fabrics and added some Psalms to the back. Didn't know any longarms where we are so did simple serpentine stitch. thank you one and all. Will wash and send it off to surprise her!
