Scrap quilter : I must apologize to you and Quilting B. I misread the posting. I thought you were referring to me when you said you wanted to connect. I was in a hurry for an appt. and didn't think before I typed. This whole set up has me confused anyway. I really need to set down and concentrate on the computer. Please accept my apology. S Sutherland

Wow Karen. That's a really cool quilt. I see how sashing is going to be interesting with the pieces that lie outside of the square.

Well here is my very first post. I am a real beginner. A great friend from Arkansas, showed me how she made wedding gifts for family by learning how to quilt the log cabin block. She was very kind to show me how to do it. I bought the supplies, was camping in Florida and from magazines and what my dear friend taught me I began sewing the blocks by hand. Not great but I was proud that I could even understand the directions. I would love to be adopted by a quilter, as I want to learn all I can and pass on to my daughter and four granddaughters.
Thank you for a wonderful place to learn. :XD: :?:

Pillow from scraps that friend gave me: also bought squares to practice potholders before I do a quilt.

Gorgeous blocks. I love the idea of doing various designs.

Now I see how gorgeous all of your efforts are; I'm a bit embarrassed to have put pics up. I see I am off point and not even on anything. Oh well, someone might like to adopt a sad case? :-( :-D

I'm a newbie, but here's an interesting story about a non-newbie. http://travelwitwist.blogspot.com/20...-stitches.html

I need all the help you can give me. I have learned a lot by read everyone's questions. And looking at all the tutorials that are posted. And here is a quilt top I just completed. There are a few errors in it but a far better than my frist one I did on my own.

I would love to adopt a "newbie". I am new to the board but have been quilting for 18 years. My favorite part is piecing. I do quilt my small project but send my big ones to a long arm quilter. Right now my favorite thing to work on is miniature quilts. Please let me know if I can help you.
