Baby Ruthie’s quilt
One of our friends had a daughter and a DIL expecting at the same time. I posted Tripp’s dinosaur quilt a month or so ago. This is his cousin Ruthie’s quilt. All the top fabrics came from our stash, and we bought the backing fabric on clearance at Joann.
I have settled on this Quick Trip quilt as my go-to baby quilt pattern. It’s a perfect size and uses six fat quarters for the body of the top, one third yard for the first border, two thirds yard for the second border, almost a half yard for binding, and less than two yards of a 58” wide fabric or about two yards of a 45” wide fabric for the back. I’ve found several Minky type fabrics on clearance at Joann lately that feel so nice for baby quilts and as a bonus they are 58” wide so I don’t have to piece a back.
I’m still trying to track down a part for my quilting frame that was lost in the move, so I quilted this in straight lines on my domestic. I really want to get the quilter back in service!
Thanks for looking!
